<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>Catching with Charlie O&#8217;Brien: February 12-13</strong></span><br />
During Charlie&#8217;s 15-year and 800-game big league career he was noted for his defensive prowess while catching 11 Cy Young Award winning pitchers including: Frank Viola, Dwight Gooden, Brett Saberhagen, David Cone, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Pat Hentgen, Roger Clemens, Chris Carpenter, and Jack McDowell. Charlie is credited with having invented the hockey-style catchers mask. Charlie will have a coaching clinic on Friday night and catching camp on Saturday (<a title="Charlie O'Brien Catching Clinics" href="http://www.midwestnationals.org/Charlie OBrien Catching Clinics.pdf" target="_blank"><strong>Click Here for more info</strong></a>).<br />

<span style="font-size: medium;">Hitting with Jay Ward: February 19-26</span></strong><br />
After his time as the Major League Hitting Coach for the New York Yankees and Montreal Expos and Minor League Hitting Coordinator for the Montreal Expos and Atlanta Braves, Jay Ward was considered one of the premier hitting instructors in baseball and opened the Wade Boggs and Jay Ward Hitting School in Tampa, FL. Jay has accumulated over 700 wins during his 15-year managerial career in the minor leagues. Jay has worked with high-profile hitters such as Dave Winfield, Don Mattingly, Rickey Henderson, Wade Boggs, Jay Buhner, Larry Walker, Moises Alou, Marquis Grissom, Delino DeShields, Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Javier Lopez, Ryan Klesko, and more. Jay will have a coaching clinic on Friday night, hitting camp on Saturday, and be available for 3-on-1 instruction during the week (<strong><a title="Jay Ward Hitting Clinics" href="http://www.midwestnationals.org/Jay Ward Hitting Clinics.pdf" target="_blank">Click Here for more info</a></strong>).</p>

The showcase will be held at Balls-n-Strikes located at 1275 N Kinder, Nixa MO 65714.
Hitting will begin at 11:00 am and pitchers will throw at 1:00 pm.
The showcase is open to all high school players that will graduate in 2010 or 2011.

<p>The showcase will be held at Balls-n-Strikes located at 1275 N Kinder, Nixa MO 65714.</p>
<p>Hitting will begin at 11:00 am and pitchers will throw at 1:00 pm.</p>

<p>The cost for the showcase is $50 per session or $75 for both ( Midwest Nationals attend free as part of their player fees).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Midwest Nationals co-founder Randy Merryman was re-elected as Vice President of Premier Baseball at the 2009 Annual Premier Baseball Board Meeting November organizational meetings in Kansas City, Missouri.</p>
<p>Premier Baseball is an aggregation of baseball organizations that have been in business for a number of years and have achieved a high level of success on the field. Each organization has as its goal, playing the best baseball possible. Premier was formed to assist in that goal. Each organization has the welfare and advancement of its players as its goal. Premier formed to assist in that goal. Currently, there are 25 organizations that are part of Premier.</p>
<p>This will be Merryman&#8217;s second consecutive term as Premier Vice President.</p>
