Midwest Nationals Complete 2011 Summer Season

The Midwest Nationals completed play for the 2011 summer season with a 40-14 overall record.
The juniors will continue play this coming week in Joplin, Missouri at the Premier Junior Championships with Rawlings Scout Team.
Johnny Eireman led the Nats with a triple-crown performance at the plate this summer with a .384 batting average, 8 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases. Luke Gibbs also paced the Nationals this summer with 41 runs scored and stealing 10 bases while hitting .335 and leading the team in hits (54) and doubles (12).
On the mound the Nats were led by workhorse Gage Jacobs who accumulated 47.1 innings and a 6-2 record with a 3.11 ERA. Tyler Spoon finished the summer with a 6-0 record and 2.23 ERA while Frank Arena was 5-0 with a 2.10 ERA. Matt Brown, Tyler Burgess, and Alex Wise all notched 4 wins each for the summer. Austin Duerr led the team in appearances with 15.
